Cool Down With Easy DIY Chocolate Pudding Pops

It’s the season for popsicles, and if your grocery store is anything like mine, frozen treats like pudding pops have been flying off the shelves! With more people staying home, it seems they’re taking the entire freezer section with them. Luckily, it’s really easy to make your own! Not only are homemade pudding pops generally healthier (less additives) but they taste even better…in my opinion. These pudding popsicles, or pudding ice pops, are made with a from-scratch microwave pudding recipe that’s ready in less than FIVE minutes. Once frozen, add your favorite toppings! That sounds way better than a traditional fudge popsicle, and to be honest, I think these taste BETTER. Whether you’re making them for yourself or your kiddos, they’ll be a hit!

To make chocolate pudding pops, you start with a simple pudding recipe. I recently discovered you can make delicious homemade pudding in the microwave! It doesn’t compromise flavor and texture, and it’s much easier and faster to make. However, you can also make a traditional chocolate pudding on the stovetop with egg yolks. For an even easier version, you can even use boxed mix with your favorite milk product. No matter how you prepare them, these fun treats are going to be kids’ new favorite snack. Save some for yourself though!

Once the popsicles are frozen, carefully remove them from the mold. Although I use a popsicle mold, it’s not entirely necessary. Achieve the same result with plastic cups! Melt a bit of chocolate for drizzling or coating the popsicles. Work quickly in adding your toppings because the chocolate hardens quickly against a frozen popsicle. Try adding additional toppings like sprinkles, coconut, nuts or even white chocolate for tasty alternatives.
