Easy Kid-Approved Avocado Bread Recipe

Kids love bread! However, let’s face it, due to the presence of preservatives, it’s not the first snack choice for most moms. Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed avocado about 2 medium
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup oil
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Preparation 

  1. To prepare the avocado bread, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, grease and flour a 9 x 5 baking pan, and set aside.
  2. Now, in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the avocado, sugar, oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla until the mixture has a smooth consistency.
  4. Then, add the flour mixture to the avocado mixture. Follow it up with the pecans and stir them in.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes. You need to make sure the avocado bread is cooked enough that a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the avocado bread to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing and cooling on a wire rack.

Slice the bread only after it has cooled down completely to get clean slices. You can add more nuts of your choice to the avocado bread recipe if you want. You can also add herbs, spices, and cheese to give your avocado bread a unique twist of your own. For spicy avocado bread, add chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the dough while for a hint of sweetness add cocoa powder and chocolate chips on top.
