Derek Hough has shared his wish to expand his family eventually with his wife, Hayley Erbert. The “Dancing with the Stars” judge talked to E! News in a recent interview, where he expressed that he is looking forward to having “Little dancing children running around” in the future. The choreographer also discussed how he currently appreciates the life he has with his wife, who suffered a cranial hematoma last year.
Derek Hough on family expansion: ‘We’ll see what’s in the cards’
Derek Hough has recently opened up about his future family plans and his current life with his wife, Hayley Erbert, in an E! News interview. When asked about the couple’s family plans, Derek admitted, “We definitely want to have a family eventually.” Besides, he is looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for them. “We’ll see what’s in the cards, what’s on the horizon,” he said.
Hough also expressed appreciation for his wife, who is always by his side. Just a few months into their marriage, Erbert had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency skull surgery due to cranial hematoma. However, nine months after the incident, Erbert is currently doing well, as revealed by her husband Derek. He called Erbert “a miracle,” further emphasizing, “She really is and I don’t say that lightly.”
In August, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Derek Hough revealed how they cherished each other during their anniversary. He said, “We actually read each other our vows again where we got married on this cliffside in Carmel overlooking the ocean.” He continued, “And it was really emotional because we were reading the vows and thinking like, ‘Wow, we really put these to the test.'”
The couple are all set to go on the upcoming “Dance for the Holidays” tour together. They are excited to share love, joy, and holiday spirit with people.
