Beyoncé and Solange’s mom, Tina Knowles, was recently honored at the 2024 Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. Knowles is among the moms who have raised some of the greatest icons of this generation. During her attendance at the star-studded event, the 70-year-old shared a parenting tip that is easy to follow.
Tina Knowles has an easy fix for parents with teens
Talking with PEOPLE, Knowles got candid and shared an easy fix for parents with teens. She said, “I feel like the teenage years are the most difficult.” She added, “But it will get better and you get what you put in.” Knowles continued to share that this is what she “truly” believes in. She advised, “The more you put into your kids, the more love and care and support you give them, the more you get out of it.” Undoubtedly, Knowles’ parenting tip is one to take note of.
At the event, Knowles delivered a touching speech while her daughter, Beyoncé, was visibly emotional as she sat among the audience. The mom said, “I’ve been so blessed in my life to do many things.” Knowles continued, “I’ve had many careers, but I’ve always said that the best job that I’ve ever had is being a mother.”
She then continued to gush about her daughters. Knowles said, “I’ve had the privilege of raising and helping to raise four daughters.” She added, “Two that were born to me and two that were a gift to me from God.” Besides Beyoncé and Solange, Knowles has been a mother figure to the Destiny Child bandmates — Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.
Furthermore, Knowles shared in her speech, “I was somewhat of a rebellious teen and a young adult, and I didn’t always follow the rules.” However, she said, “The day that I became a mother, I decided that this was one thing that I wouldn’t screw up.”
