Snoop Dogg’s Parenting Tip Is Simple & Effective

Snoop Dogg, a father of four, recently appeared on the TODAY show and shared a parenting tip that is both simple and effective. The rapper has three kids with his wife, Shante Broadus — their sons Corde and Cordell, and a daughter, Cori. Snoop also has another son, Julian, from a previous relationship.

Snoop Dogg’s parenting advice: ‘I try to give them tough love’

Snoop Dogg appeared on the new segment of the TODAY show with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. During the conversation, the hosts brought up the cover of the latest “Men’s Health” issue featuring Bronny James, son of NBA icon, LeBron James. The former recently joined his father on the court for the 2024-25 basketball season. Jenna shared with Snoop, a “die-hard” Lakers fan, the advice LeBron gave his son as he follows in his dad’s footsteps — “Block out all the noise.”

Snoop reacted to LeBron’s words to his son and said, “That’s great advice.” Hoda continued to ask the rapper the kind of advice he gives to his children. Snoop replied, “Honesty. Just truth.” He explained, “I try to give them tough love.” The singer added that he gives his kids the “reality of what’s to expect outside the home.”

Snoop shared there are expectations and things he has done in creating a “big shoe print.” However, it is not for his children to be able to “walk in.” Snoop added he wants them to create their own “shoe print” — “To be your own individual and create your own lane and create your own persona for who you want to be in this life.” He then said, “You can’t live my life and I can’t live yours.”

Afterward, Snoop shared that his daughter and younger son love their father’s business and said, “They really have a knack for it.” However, the singer stated he does not “push anything” on his children. Instead, he supports everything they do.
