The 44-year-old actor, who shares two children with comedian John Mulaney, has bravely opened up about her diagnosis and recovery. The actor also proudly embraced her mastectomy scars in the new SKIMS campaign shoot.
Olivia Munn admits facing mom guilt amid breast cancer treatment
During a virtual appearance on the “TODAY” show, Olivia Munn opened up about feeling mom guilt during her breast cancer journey. The actor was asked about how she is juggling motherhood and the aftermath of the surgeries as she is still struggling to find the right medication to stay healthy. Munn shared, “There is a lot of guilt that I had and still have from being sick for so long and being bedridden with so many surgeries.”
Munn recalled she had thought she would be able to get back on her feet after going through the “big chunk” of four surgeries. However, the battle didn’t stop there. Munn recalled, “Then there came the first wave of medication, and that just knocked me down.” She noted, “It was debilitating.”
Olivia Munn candidly spoke about the mom guilt she felt during her breast cancer battle. She shared she was “just tired and not around that much” following the surgeries. The actor recalled she couldn’t hold her son and “couldn’t go to the playground as much.” Munn added it was “really exhausting,” and said, “There’s just a lot of guilt.” The mom of two shared that she works with her oncologist to try and figure out what she can do.
The Marvel star continued to gush about her “little family.” She said, “We’re really tight, and we have a lot of fun and we laugh all the time.” Munn also praised John Mulaney and said he is “the most amazing husband and father.” She shared, “We figure out a way to make it all work, despite how tired I can be at times.”
