Meghan Trainor made an honest confession about how she managed her mental health struggles after giving birth to her second son, Barry, whom she shares with her husband, Daryl Sabara. She began the essay for TODAY.com by writing, “A month after having my second baby, I hit a breaking point.” She continued, “I’ll never forget it, it’s like it was yesterday — I’m sweating, just thinking about it.” The singer further explained, “I was holding Barry, my newborn, and he was crying and crying.”
After that, Meghan Trainor revealed that at that moment, her husband Daryl Sabara was attending to their first son, Riley. Thus, she was all alone with her newborn child and the baby kept crying, which led to Trainor breaking down and starting to cry as well.
The artist wrote, “I was having a panic attack and I was just over-exhausted, but I felt like I was dying.” She continued, “I felt if I stood up, I would pass out.” She added, “I didn’t feel safe holding the baby and at the same time I felt like my body was giving up on me.”
In the candid essay, Trainor also disclosed the reason why she wanted to share her personal experience of postpartum struggles. She wrote, “When I talk to other moms about it, I’m like, “Isn’t this traumatic and crazy?”.” The singer continued, “And we’re expected to walk around like we’re fine.” “That’s why I want to share my own experience — to show other moms that they’re not alone,” she emphasized.
