During her recent appearance on the chat show, Saldaña, who shares three sons with her husband Marco Perego–Saldaña, told Jimmy Kimmel she spent her Super Bowl day off giving their boys haircuts. The Golden Globe Award winner reasoned that her children “don’t wanna go to the barber” despite her attempts to bribe them with breakfast.

Zoe Saldaña might be an Oscar nominee but her day-offs come with parenting responsibilities and quality time with her three kids. Saldaña recently told Jimmy Kimmel during a segment on his chat show that she couldn’t watch Super Bowl 2025 despite it being her “one day off.” She then explained how they have been “going really hard” for Emilia Pérez’s campaign — the role that landed her the Academy Award nomination.
The actor revealed that Sunday was her time off and she spent the day with her boys as her husband, Marco Perego-Saldaña, was traveling. She further told Kimmel that their sons — Cy, Bowie, and Zen — have “really long hair,” claiming she had to give them haircuts at home because “they don’t wanna go to the barber.” Saldaña continued, “I begged them, ‘Why don’t we just go for breakfast and go to the barber?’ and they’re like, ‘No, you cut it.'” She even demonstrated how she cut their hair multiple inches for each.
Later, during her “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” segment, Zoe Saldaña expressed regret over missing Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance. Following this, Saldaña made a couple of light-hearted quips about Lamar’s bell bottoms from the show and heaped praises on him as an artist. She further divulged that one of her twins Cy, 10, asked her that night, “When will I be old enough to listen to Kendrick Lamar?” In response, she told her son about the rapper being a “wonderful artist” and that he will “listen and enjoy” his music once he’s old enough.
