On December 25, Beyoncé had a sweet mother-daughter moment with Blue Ivy at the NFL Halftime Show, who she brought out for her debut performance of “Cowboy Carter.” The singer also made a subtle lyric change to seamlessly incorporate her 12-year-old into the performance. The duo performed a line dance with the rest of the backup dancers, with the tween flaunting her amazing dancing skills yet again after stealing the show at the Renaissance World Tour.
Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy joins singer’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ performance
Beyoncé delivered a riveting performance for her NFL Halftime Show on Wednesday. The singer-songwriter took her hometown of Houston, Texas, by storm with the “Beyoncé Bowl.” The entire performance was oh-so-cowboy-coded, with the star’s grand entrance on a horse.
However, what made Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” performance all the more special was the presence of Blue Ivy. The 12-year-old joined her mom for her closing song “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The singer did not miss the opportunity to give a quick shoutout to her daughter, subtly tweaking the lyrics to “then spin me in the middle, Blue, I can’t read your mind.”
The mother-daughter duo donned dazzling all-white ensembles. While Beyoncé opted for a bodysuit paired with chaps, Blue Ivy rocked a strapless top with matching pants. The duo had a cute twinning moment with their statement-worthy cowboy hats, which the rest of the dancers also wore for the performance.
This is not the first time Blue Ivy has joined her mom on stage. Time and again, she has performed alongside the pop artist during the Renaissance World Tour, showcasing her dancing skills as she almost blended in with her mom’s backup dancers.
For the Christmas Halftime Show, Beyoncé opened the set with “16 Carriages,” following it up with “Ya Ya.” She also performed her hit single “My House,” with the stands lighting up to spell out the same. The singer also brought Shaboozey for “Sweet Honey Buckiin” and Post Malone for “Levii’s Jeans.” In short, the Christmas Halftime Show was iconic as it marked the first time the star performed songs from her latest album live.
