Following Chrissy Teigen and her family’s return to their home after the LA fire evacuation, she took to Instagram to share a video of her daughter trying her hands at a beef Wellington recipe. Her little one, Luna, did exceptionally well considering it was her first time making the dish. The mom of four couldn’t help but gush over her eldest’s cooking skills, exclaiming that the dish looked good.
Chrissy Teigen’s daughter makes a Wellington
Chrissy Teigen’s eldest daughter, Luna, recently made her first beef Wellington and the mama bear couldn’t help but share the videos with the world. The model took to her Instagram Stories to share clips of her little girl cooking expertly. Luna first seared the beef in a large pot. She used tongs to ensure all sides were evenly browned.
She then wrapped it in pastry, opting for an easier design instead of the usual intricate lattice that can be quite complicated for an 8-year-old. Luna cut out different-sized circles from leftover pastry sheets, sticking the same on top of her beef Wellington. This could be an amazing design for first-timers trying their hands at tarts or pies.
Once she was satisfied with her design, the 8-year-old rubbed egg wash all over the beef Wellington. She used her hands to apply the same. This is a great way for kids to get the job done without using a pastry brush. However, if your little one is planning to use this trick, do ensure they wash their hands thoroughly before and after handling the egg wash.
Finally, they scored the pastry and let it bake till it was golden brown. In the last video, Chrissy Teigen went on to cut her daughter’s first attempt at the beef Wellington recipe. The dish had turned out nice and crispy. The model jokingly asked if it was “approved” by Chef Gordon Ramsay. She also put a disclaimer that she doesn’t want Ramsay to “roast her” for not letting it rest before she cut into it. It was already really late and she just wanted her kids to finish eating and quickly go to sleep.
