Nicole Kidman’s Birthday Tribute to Late Mother Is Bittersweet

Nicole Kidman recently paid a heartfelt homage to her beloved late mother, Janelle Ann Kidman. On March 12, the Academy Award-winning actor took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photograph of her late mom and dad, Antony Kidman. Through the post’s caption, she revealed that it would have been her mother’s 85th birthday on that day, which is indeed a bittersweet moment for the actor.

On the day of what would have been her late mom’s 85th birthday, Nicole Kidman penned a touching note on Instagram, paying tribute to both her late mother and father. The actor posted a sweet and beautiful throwback photo of her parents, Janelle Ann Kidman and Antony Kidman. In the caption of the Instagram post, the actor expressed how much she missed her parents. She wrote, “Missing Mumma and Papa so much on what would have been her birthday today,” with a red heart emoji.

Kidman mom passed away in September 2024 at the age of 84. The actor lost her dad, Antony Kidman, back in September 2014, at the age of 75. The writer and director of the actor’s newest film, “Babygirl”, Halina Reijn, shared the heartbreaking news of Kidman’s mother’s passing away during the Venice Film Festival.

Kidman won the best actress award at the prestigious film festival. However, the actor had to leave the event shortly after arriving there to be with her family during a tough time. Reijn read Kidman’s acceptance speech on her behalf at the event. As per People Magazine, the speech read, “I’m in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her [Nicole Kidman’s mother]. She shaped me, she guided me and she made me.” It continued, “I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken.”
