Supplies:
- Jack-be-Little pumpkins
- black chalkboard paint both spray paint and brush-on craft chalkboard paint work)
- white chalk
- scissors
Supplies for Bats:
- black or black and white cardstock
- craft knife
- pencil
Supplies for Spiders:
- black pipe cleaners
Instructions:
Step 1: Paint the Jack-be-Littles with two to three coats of chalkboard paint. Let each coat dry before applying the next.
Make a Bat:
Step 1: Draw a wing shape on the cardstock and cut it out.
Step 2: Use the first cut out wing as a template for the second one so the wings match. Simply place the first wing on a piece of cardstock, trace it and cut it out.
Step 3: Attach the wing by using a craft knife to make a slit in the Jack-Be-Little. Insent the end of wing into slit. Repeat on other side. (Note: children should never handle knoves. Leave the kids out of this step.)
Step 4: Draw spooky, cute, or funny faces on the Jack-Be-Little with white chalk.
Make a Spider:
Step 1: Cut eight pieces of black pipe cleaner, each about 5 inches long.
Step 2: Bend each pipe in to a Z shape as shown in the image below. These are the spider’s legs. Stick one end of each pipe-cleaner leg into the top of the Jack-Be-Little. Equally space the remaining 7 sections around the top. The wire end on the pipe cleaner will easily punch right through the skin.
Step 3: Draw spooky, cute, or funny faces on the Jack-Be-Little with white chalk.
