DIY Valentine’s Day Duct Tape Puzzle for Kid’s Playtime

This February 14, surprise your kids with a new game. Try this DIY duct tape puzzle to keep your kiddos occupied while you prep for Valentine’s Day. The best part is that you don’t have to spend hours making this. With just cardboard, duct tape, and scissors, you can make these cute little puzzles, scramble up the pieces, and keep your kiddo occupied for some time while you finish your tasks. This is especially great for your preschoolers and toddlers, as it helps develop their motor skills and teaches them sorting.

Materials

  • Duct tape
  • Scissors
  • Heart paper punch (or free-form your shapes with scissors)
  • Cardboard

Procedure

  1. To make the DIY duct tape puzzle for Valentine’s Day, first, punch out your heart shapes with the heart paper punch.
  2. Then, grab duct tape in your favorite shades and use a few pieces to cover the hearts well. You don’t want the designs on the cardboard peeking through!
  3. Now, with the help of scissors, trim off the duct tape around the edges of the heart.
  4. Use the scissors to cut the hearts into puzzle pieces. And then mix the pieces well to truly make it a puzzle.
  5. Finally, let your kids find the right pieces of the DIY duct tape puzzle to complete the heart on Valentine’s Day.

Voila, your DIY is ready for your kid’s playtime on Valentine’s Day. You can make this duct tape puzzle in other shapes as well. This is a fun way to teach children about different shapes and sorting during their play. Just be mindful of your little one’s age while making the puzzle. The bigger the pieces, the easier it will be for them to see, hold and match.

If you are out of duct tape, you can always let your kiddos color or paint the heart. This will ensure they are occupied with the craft for a little longer. So, what are you waiting for? Get the supplies and make this DIY duct tape puzzle for your little ones’ playtime on Valentine’s Day.
