Decorate your Fourth of July spread with this oh-so-simple and inexpensive tutorial for how to turn paper plates into bowls. It’s a great way for the kids to get in on the decorating action.
Supplies:
- Thin cheap paper plates (large and small)
- Scissors
- Watercolor paints
- Paintbrush
- Washi tape
- Paper clips or clothespins
- Ruler
- Pencil
Instructions:
Step 1: Use your ruler and pencil to draw a tic tac toe board on the bottom side of the paper plate.
Step 2: Paint festive designs with red and blue watercolors. Let dry.
Step 3: Hold the paper plate in front of you. Cut the bottom left vertical line. Turn the plate ninety degrees. Repeat this process three more times. Then fold the paper plate where all of the lines are.
Step 4: Use your paper clip or clothespins to hold the bowls in place. Make sure you have the small flap on the inside of the bowl.
Step 5: Wrap washi tape around the bowl to secure. Then fill with your favorite summer fruit.
