Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their second child, a daughter, at 8:34 a.m. BST on May 2, according to the BBC.
The palace has released a series of statements about the royal baby’s birth via Twitter:
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.

The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, at 6 a.m. BST, the palace noted. Both Kate and her new baby girl are doing well. No word on the baby’s name just yet.
