Kelly Rowland is an honorary member of Beyoncé‘s family. Tina Lawson, Beyoncé’s mom, has always considered Rowland to be her third daughter. So when Noah, Rowland’s son, celebrated his first birthday over the weekend via Instagram, Grandma Tina joined in.

While not a grandchild by blood, some things are stronger. Lawson basically raised Rowland as a teenager while she lived with the Knowles family. Naturally, she feels a maternal connection to both Rowland and her son.
On his special day, momma Rowland posted an adorable photo of Noah with his birthday cake. And, of course, Lawson commented, saying, “Why are you so friggin cute??? Happy Birthday my Grandbaby Noah!”
In a previous interview with Marie Claire, Rowland recounted meeting Lawson. “I remember the first time I went to Tina’s salon in Houston, Texas,” she says. “Seeing a strong, black woman with her own business. She was so beautiful and glamorous: a role model.”
She goes on to convey how Lawson introduced her to artists, lawyers, and doctors, and instilled within her a belief that she “could literally do anything.” No doubt something that she instills within her own child, as well, as a result.

When Noah was born, everyone was there… in a somewhat unconventional way. Rowland gave birth during these times of Covid, so everyone had to video in via Zoom, according to Hello. Joking, she says that it was “the proper angle only!” and allowed everyone to keep the tradition of being present for births.
We have no doubt that momma Lawson was present for this special and memorable Zoom event. Which must have been an especially lovely and humorous memory to share on Noah’s big one-year birthday.
