Christina Aguilera Says ‘The Voice’ Won’t Tear People Down

Christina Aguilera is looking forward to being a positive influence on her new show “The Voice”.

Christina, Adam Levigne, and Cee Lo Green are the mentors on the upcoming talent competition “The Voice”.   During a promotional conference yesterday she explained that there won’t be any nastiness going on between the mentors and the contestants: “There is no good and bad. This isn’t about tearing people down. I want to bring these people up.  Instinctually, you can judge people based on the way they look. I love the fact we get to sit here with our backs turned away from these people and completely use just one sense to hear these voices. I’m not looking for vocal acrobatics, who has biggest range [of] high and low. I’m looking forward to getting moved.”

Christina explains that they aren’t just judging the contestants, but working with them and mentoring them on every step of the journey:  “We’re looking to get more involved with people starting out just like we did. We’re not just making commentary and then going home. We’re getting completely involved. I wish there was a show like this when I was starting. I’m ready to share it all.”

The show is set to premiere April 26th.  Are you planning to watch?
