You can use this same technique to make broaches, necklaces, pins, etc. Keep reading to check out the full tutorial…

Supplies:

  • Lace or trim
  • Matching craft felt
  • Bobby pin
  • Scissors
  • Glue Gun
  • Needle and thread

With you needle and thread, start making a wide, loose running stitch across the bottom of the lace

After a few inches pull on the string. The lace will start to bunch up like so. Decide how long/large you want your flower and cut the lace accordingly

Gather the ends together and sew them together

Pinch together the frayed ends of the lace, fold them over twice, and hand stitch a simple hem

This is what your flower should look like at this point (pretty, right?)

Cut a small piece of felt and hot glue it to the back of the flower where the ends meet

Cut another piece of felt in a similar shape. Put it through the middle of the bobby pin and then hot glue that on top of the first piece of felt

Let dry completely before putting the bobby pin flower in your hair.
