Since the wedding is a “destination” weekend sitting poolside means lots of socializing, this is not the time to throw on my trusty five year old bikini and terry cover up, this is the time to really glam it up. Unfortunately for me, freckles and red hair do not make for the best sun bathing skin which means I always need a coverup. In keeping with the mid century modern feel of the hotel I have put together a Mommy Must Have Poolside Edition. I am off to dream I really am this glamorous.
Given the social aspect of pool lounging at a weekend wedding I opted for a cover up that could double as a little dress. Throw this on over your bikini and you can go from poolside to bar side with ease.
In keeping with the mid century modern motif of the hotel I am opting to drop my classic black bikini and play with the prints and colors of the era. This little Marc Jacobs piece fits my theme to a tee.
With a touch of embellishment these easy to slip on sandals will dress up my cover up just enough for lunch or late afternoon cocktails.
I think there might have been one summer when I was 15 that I didn’t wear a hat…but at least there is a wealth of styles and materials to choose from when it comes to protecting your face and hair from the sun’s damaging rays.
I never, and I do mean never, leave the house without La Roche-Possay lathered under my face lotion. For days when I am poolside I reapply and reapply.
