This Fall's Best Fashion Collaborations I'm Shopping Right Now
Elie Tahari x Kohl’s DesigNation
Elie Tahari is all about timeless, elegant dressing, so imagine the exaltation that ensued when it was announced he was teaming up with Kohl’s DesigNation . The slew of perfectly priced pieces, ideal for everything from work to dinner dates, includes charming fit-and-flare dresses, funky motorcycle jackets made with faux suede, and comfortable leggings. The mood is at once sophisticated and chic, with an adventurous flair captured by edgy details and silhouettes.
Rita Ora for Adidas
Packed with attitude, the fearless Rita Ora for Adidas collection is as daringly fashion forward as the singer herself. From rainbow-striped leggings (and even matching Superstar 80 sneakers!) to sexy bodysuits and eighties-inspired high-tops, there’s something for any bold-woman-meets-hardcore-athlete in this eclectic mix. The #unstoppable Collection offers a little something for everyone: feminine floral prints, racy silhouettes, and tattoo-inspired designs among them.
Ostwald Helgason x ALDO Rise
Always count on ALDO Rise to bring something refreshing to the table. For its second collaboration with the storied shoe retailer, Ostwald Helgason offers everything that is right with fall, including dramatic colors and dynamic textures. The collection is comprised of classics with a twist, including shoes (check out the to-die-for plaid-print Saya boots for evidence) and handbags (the Zeek crossbody shows off color blocking at its best). With all of these wines, plaids, mustards, and golds competing for the spotlight, you may have a hard time choosing just one piece.
Barbie <3 Forever21
Your tween or teen daughter will likely adore the results of this partnership. Barbie <3 Forever21 is all about the pink and girly. There are graphic sweatshirts featuring bold images of the doll’s famed face, sheer varsity jackets, roomy cosmetic bags (that even mom might enjoy using), downright adorable pajama sets, and more. If nothing else, the reasonable prices are sure to make you <3 Barbie more than ever.
Altuzarra for Target
You almost can’t escape the mayhem that threatens to overtake nearly every single Target collaboration in existence. Chaos aside, there’s a charm to the Altuzarra for Target collection that makes it especially appealing---and perhaps even worth the monumental effort to score a piece or two. Undeterred by low prices, the sophistication here is mesmerizing---think draped dresses, snake-print blouses, faux fur jackets, and other pieces reserved for the higher echelon. Act fast, as many pieces are already marked up on eBay.
Aquazzura x Olivia Palermo
You’ll feel every bit the red-carpet maven when you step into a pair of Aquazzura x Olivia Palermo shoes. The luxurious Italian label teamed up with the socialite to create a six-piece range of heels, boots, and sandals, all inspired by Aquazzura designer Edgardo Osorio’s history and Palermo’s own vast closet. There’s no use resisting the sexiest design of them all: suede sandals accented by stunning, Victorian necklace inspired crystals. Soft suede gives them a distinctly old-fashioned elegance, perfect for an unforgettable night out.
Alexander Wang x H&M
Arm yourself with whatever you need well in advance of November 6; that’s the day Alexander Wang x H&M launches, and if the massive hype is any indication, it’s sure to be a quick seller. Wang promises more than just the usual garments---there will also be an assortment of lifestyle pieces, including a sassy boxing glove key chain spotted on a recent Instagram leak. There will also be more head-turning goodies, like leather pants, mesh T-shirts, and cutout dresses that scream sporty sex appeal.
Target and TOMS
Here’s something that should even get the haters excited about winter. Target has teamed up with TOMS on a holiday collection that does something good for everyone involved. First, the merch: There are the usual (and wonderful) slip-on shoes, plus an assortment of accessories, housewares, and clothes to outfit the whole family. With every purchase, a blanket is donated through the American Red Cross or Canadian Red Cross, or a week of meals is donated through Feeding America or Food Banks Canada. Plus, every pair of shoes sold equals a pair of shoes given to a child in need. Talk about a happy holiday.
