Easy DIY Gummies To Get Rid of Your Kid’s Sore Throat

As moms, we know treating sore throat isn’t easy. Constant coughing and complaints of throat pain make all of us feel helpless, and seeing the little ones suffer breaks our hearts. However, it is a common ailment, so it is best to keep some natural remedies handy, like DIY sore throat gummies, to help them get back on their feet quickly.

With a mild citrus and ginger flavor, adults and kids alike will surely enjoy these gummies. Packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients like ginger root, honey, lemon juice, etc., you can make the gummies with any candy mold. If you don’t have a mold, line a pan with parchment paper and pour in the DIY sore throat gummy mixture. Once set, carefully remove the block to cut into squares (or any shape of your munchkin’s choice).

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup homemade orange juice (or store brought with no preservatives)
  • 1 ginger root, peeled and shredded
  • 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons gelatine
  • Candy mold (or a pan of your choice)

Preparation

  1. To make the DIY sore throat gummies, combine water, orange juice, and peeled ginger in a small saucepan on the stove and mix.
  2. Cover the saucepan with the lid and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes.
  3. Strain out the ginger and return the water and juice mixture to the pot.
  4. Add lemon juice and honey and bring to a simmer on the stove. You can taste the concoction at this point. If needed, add more honey for the sweet flavor.
  5. Sprinkle gelatine evenly over the liquid while whisking to prevent lumps. Mix until the gelatine dissolves completely.
  6. Carefully pour the sore throat gummy mixture into the mold and let it set in the refrigerator for at least an hour until solid.

There you have it; your DIY sore throat gummies are ready to be munched on. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Moreover, you can make these DIY sore throat gummies in different shapes by pouring them into animal-shaped molds (or other fun shapes) for your kids to enjoy.

However, ensure you don’t prepare this DIY sore throat gummy mixture with kids in the kitchen since you will be straining and pouring hot liquid. It might cause severe burns if proper measures aren’t taken.
