Celebrity arrests, divorce, and baby announcements top the headlines so far this week.
- Christina Aguilera and her new beau Matt Rutler were arrested on Monday night. Matt was picked up for driving under the influence and Christina was held at the jail as well because she was “unable to care for herself.” The sheriff’s spokesman said: “We have no desire to prosecute (Christina), none whatsoever. It just for a public safety issue. When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released. She was not capable to taking care of herself. She was incapacitated.”
- “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert and her husband Bruce Boxleitner have called it quits on their marriage of 16 years. The couple shares a son, Michael, 15, as well as three other adult sons from previous marriages.
- Kings of Leon guitarist Matthew Followill and his girlfriend Johanna Bennett are expecting their first child together, due this spring.
- Katie Holmes is suing Star magazine for $50 million after they put a photo of her looking tired and rundown on the cover with the headline “Katie Drug Shocker” and inside insinuate that she’s being drugged to keep her from leaving husband Tom Cruise. Her legal team said: “Star Magazine’s malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful. Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside.” Tom and Katie put up with so many false stories about their lives, but Star crossed the line with this one.
