Active Leisure Canopy Tents Recalled

On April 7th, 2011, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with Active Leisure,  Inc., announced a voluntary recall of the 10′ x 10′ folding canopy tents that were sold at Costco due to a potential Fire Hazard.

What do you need to know about this Recall?

The tents do not meet the flammability label claim on the unit, posing a fire hazard to consumers and this recall includes approximately 19,000 Active Leisure 10’ by 10’ folding canopy tents. Item number 544803 is printed on the original packaging near the bar code. The tents have a metal frame covered in white fabric and were sold exclusively at Costco stores nationwide from January 2011 through February 2011 for about $190 and were manufactured in China. As of April 7th, 2011, no injuries have yet been reported on this product.

What should you do if you own or have purchased one of these products?

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled canopy tents and return them to any Costco store for a full refund.
