The perfect way to keep the wine and create a cocktail!
I always try and keep wines under $10 for Sangria recipes since it will be mixed with other ingredients, focusing on the overall taste. I used a Spanish Tempranillo Red Wine and a Spanish White Wine made from Viura grapes, both from Trader Joe’s to make the below sangria recipes.
Raspberry Plum Sangria
- 1 bottle of Spanish red wine
- ½ cup pomegranate juice
- ½ cup cup triple sec
- 10 lemon slices, halved (about 2 lemons)
- 6 slices orange, halved (1 large navel orange)
- 1 plum, sliced
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- Sparkling water topper
Combine all ingredients, except sparkling water, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving.
Strawberry Peach Sangria
- 1 bottle of Spanish white wine
- ½ cup orange/mango juice
- ½ cup peach schnapps
- 1 cup frozen peaches
- 6 orange slices, halved (1 large navel orange)
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- Sparkling water topper
Combine all ingredients, except sparkling water, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving.
Tips for making homemade sangria:
- Use seasonal fruit.
- Inexpensive wine is fine and the way to go!
- Sangria can be made with red or white wine.
- Let sangria sit in fridge for at least 3 hours.
- Use different types of carbonated soda water to fit your taste.
- Freeze all types of fruits for fun edibles!
