Miley Cyrus opens up on her engagement to ‘Hunger Games’ star Liam Hemsworth in the September issue of Marie Claire.
Miley worked with the magazine on the photo shoot literally an hour after getting engaged back in May. She shares in the interview that the proposal was a complete surprise (to her and her parents). Here are a few snippets, but you can read the full interview in the magazine, which hits stands on August 14th.
Miley on the engagement ring: “I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about getting engaged…I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty…I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.”
On her young age and the skeptics saying she’ll end up divorced: “Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”
On her relationship with Liam: “Liam and I have a really good relationship…neither of us is super-jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other.”
