Singer Shakira and her beau Gerard Pique are expecting their first child together!
Rumors have been swirling since early June that the hip-shaking songstress was expecting, but she tried her hardest to keep the news under wraps. Today Shakira, who is set to be a mentor in cycle 5 of The Voice early next year, took to her blog to share the happy news with her fans, as she had to bow out of a concert.
“As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days. This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival … I’d like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding. Big kiss!”
For those who aren’t familiar, Gerard is a Spanish football (soccer) player for FC Barcelona. They have been dating since early 2011.
