The annual amFAR gala during the Cannes Film Festival is always a night of big spending and even bigger splashes of fashion on the red (or blue-gray in this instance) carpet. Celebs like Heidi Klum, Paris Hilton, Jessica Chastain and more showed off their gala gowns and raised money for a great cause.
During the event, a generous bidder paid $1.5 million to sit next to Leonardo DiCaprio on Virgin Galactic’s upcoming flights into space. As an aviation nerd, I’m tad more jealous of the space flight than who they’ll get to sit with. A portion of the proceeds from the auctions will go toward the AmFAR Cinema Against AIDS charity.
