With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, here are the Top 6 Apps to help you celebrate with your loved ones.
Whether its dinner with your sweetheart or finding age appropriate crafts to make Valentines with your kids these Apps are sure to make your day full of love.
1. Godiva
Godiva would be a perfect candidate for a scratch and sniff app. Heavenly. But until the world is ready for that concept this is simply an ideal way to order delicious treats for the chocolate lovers in your life. The free app includes images and descriptions of Godiva Chocolatier’s best selling items. Chocolates can be ordered directly from your phone and sent anywhere. The app integrates with your contact list making it simple to make someone’s day with a decadent delivery. I might just send some to myself this year.
2. Craft Finder
Craft Finder is my “Go To” app for finding inexpensive, manageable crafts to do with my children. The app features projects from Disney’s Family Fun magazine and updates with the different seasons and holidays throughout the year. This time of year you can find quick and easy ideas for Valentine’s day, including classroom Valentine’s. Craft Finder is a great free resource if you want an alternative to the boxed cards from the store.
3. 101 Valentines Gifts (IPad)
Here is a collection of gift ideas, assembled with couples in mind. The app’s tagline is “Cupid approved gifts for your sweetheart” and it has everything from pricey symbols of affection to free ideas for romance. The app works on the iPad and features retailers that include Tiffany, Victoria’s Secret, Lush and more. Due to the nature of some content this app is rated for ages 17 and older. Not one for the kids.
4. Urban Spoon
Looking to escape the kitchen and dine out on Valentine’s Day? Urban Spoon is an ideal resource for discovering where to eat in your area. Restaurants can be filtered by location, price and type of cuisine. Ratings and reviews are included so you’ll have a true sense of exactly what you might be walking into. Addresses, driving directions and phone numbers are available making it easy for you to get connected with the perfect romantic restaurant.
Cooper’s Big Bear Hug comes from Hallmark and is part of their Interactive Storybook & Story Buddy line. The story is about a little bear who is looking for different ways to show his mother how much he loves her. It is narrated, includes animation and interactive activities. You may also record your own voice for the narration so your child can listen to you read the story, even if you’re not there. Coopers Big Bear Hug app is free and you can purchase a Cooper Story Buddy ($9.95) at your local Hallmark store. The Story Buddy will respond to phrases in the app as well as your voice when you read aloud. It’s a sweet Valentine’s gift for children that shares a message of love we can all relate to.
6. Redbox
My husband and I aren’t ones to go out on Valentine’s Day because of the crowds, difficulty finding babysitters and school schedules. We usually celebrate with a fun family dinner and then a movie and ice cream when the house is quiet. If we want to watch a recent movie we turn to Redbox. I frequently use their app because it finds Redbox stations based on your current location and it will tell you if the movie you’re looking for is available there. It’s perfect if you’re already out running errands and just looking to make one quick stop on the way home. This free app saves time for the important things like picking out the perfect ice cream flavor.
