Kim Rhodes Praises Dylan Sprouse for Resisting Fat Joke

Kim Rhodes recently shared her “favorite memories” from the set of the hit Disney series, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” She was all praises for her then co-star Dylan Sprouse for refusing to go along with fat jokes aimed at her.

The actress was pregnant at the time, and the show decided to play it off by having the young actors aim “fat jokes” at her. Despite being some of the youngest on the set, Dylan and Cole had some power over their delivery and exercised it quite responsibly (via People).

Kim Rhodes Claims Dylan and Cole ‘Defended Her All the Way Through’

Kim Rhodes was recently featured in the “Back to the Best” podcast. While recollecting her time on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” set, Rhodes narrated an incident where the twins “defended [her] all the way through.”

The actress touched upon the time she was pregnant on the hit TV series set, noting that Dylan kept skipping over the said joke that was meant to cover up her pregnancy. He continued doing the same in front of the studio audience, leading to the executive producer yelling, “Say the line!” from backstage.

Kim Rhodes proudly exclaimed that Dylan refused to go with it, stating that he couldn’t “disrespect any woman that way, let alone this woman.” She went on to call the twins “my little men,” expressing how proud she was of Dylan and Cole (via People).

Rhodes Feels Nothing but Pride for Her Former On-Screen Sons

The 54-year-old actress said that the twins were looking after not only her but also the rest on the set, including cast members Ashley Tisdale and Brenda Song.

Dylan and Cole were just 12 years old when “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” premiered in 2005. The fact that the boys could comprehend that they were probably the only two who were not expendable and took the bullet for the rest of the cast members was “really impressive” for Kim Rhodes (via Variety).

Although she is no longer in touch with them, she does follow along with their lives on social media. However, she exclaimed that if she ever met her former on-screen sons, she would most likely “clutch them” and “sob with love and pride.”

“The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” has three seasons that aired from March 2005 to September 2008. The sequel series, “The Suite Life on Deck,” aired from 2008 to 2011. It was followed up by “The Suite Life Movie” in 2011, which served as the conclusion. On the show, Kim Rhodes played the twin brothers’ (Zack and Cody) mom, Carey, a lounge singer at Tipton Hotel in Boston.
