The “Dead to Me” star was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021. As she walked onto the stage, the audience rewarded the 52-year-old with a standing ovation. Christina Applegate was touched, but she didn’t lose her sense of humor as she exclaimed through teary eyes, “Oh my god, you’re totally shaming me with disability by standing up. It’s fine…Body not by Ozempic” (via Variety).
After receiving multiple rounds of applause, the actress noted that the audience doesn’t have to applaud every time she does something. She went on to take a trip down memory lane, stating that it had been “an honor to play funny, flawed, complex characters” (via USA Today).
In a 2023 interview with the Los Angeles Times, the “Married…with Children” star discussed the possibility of switching to voiceover roles to continue working as a full-time actress. One of the leading reasons for carefully considering her next step in Hollywood is her daughter, exclaiming she would like to “make some cash to make sure that my daughter’s fed.”
