New Hampshire Amber Alert Issued for Missing Girls

On March 1, 2024, an Amber Alert was issued for two young girls who went missing and were believed to be abducted by their father. New Hampshire State Police issued the Amber Alert early Friday morning. The alert has been issued for 4-year-old Elowyn Duren and 1-year-old Vaelyn Duren (via CBS News).

The missing children were last seen in Berlin, New Hampshire. Their last sighting was reportedly at 8 p.m. on Feb. 29, 2024. The girls were with their biological father, Dustin Mark Duren. Everyone has been asked to keep their distance if they are sighted, with the police instructing people to call 911 immediately.

The little girls have been described as having blonde hair and blue eyes. In the New Hampshire Amber Alert, authorities also notified that Dustin Mark Duren might be armed and dangerous, so others should keep their distance once they are spotted (via NBC10 Boston).

What can you do if your child goes missing?

If your child has gone missing, it is best to contact your local law enforcement agency immediately. After reporting the same, you can call the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Request them to enter your kid’s name and other relevant information into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center Missing Person File.

If your little one’s missing case meets the Amber Alert criteria, broadcasters and state transportation officials are notified immediately. These alerts can be issued across state and jurisdictional lines. However, they are reserved for the most severe cases. Amber Alert is but one tool authorities use to help families whose children have gone missing. They are equipped with several other methods to help you with missing children cases.
