Sophie Turner recently cleared the air around her comments about it being “a struggle being a single mother.” In her Instagram stories, the “Game of Thrones” star pointed out that her interview was about her latest work, “Joan.” However, her statements were taken out of context and Sophie Turner felt the need to clarify. The actress knew that she was quite lucky due to all the help she received and it was not the reality of all single moms.

On Monday, Turner posted on her Instagram story that her September 29 interview was about her character Joan Hannington. She acknowledged that her life was quite different and emphasized that it was evident in the interview too. Sophie Turner had previously told the Sunday Times that she could better connect with her character’s persona due to her real-life circumstances. Both are single moms to little ones, trying to do their best to raise their children right.

Her reality helped her capture the essence of being the sole pillar of strength in a kid’s life. However, Sophie Turner also noted that she knows she is “very fortunate” that she has “a lot of help” from people around her. The Dark Phoenix” actress stated that she “applauds all single mothers” as they navigate the challenging path of parenting alone and doing it fabulously.

In the Sunday Times interview, Turner said that she could not possibly have portrayed the character well without being a single mom herself. It wouldn’t have done the character justice. Moreover, she couldn’t have brought the same energy, which was needed to portray Hannington’s fight for her daughter.
