Colton Underwood welcomed his first baby boy with husband Jordan C. Brown via surrogate, on September 26. The 32-year-old former Bachelor star took to Instagram on September 30 to announce the happy news. In the caption of the Instagram post, he revealed their son’s full name – Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood. The heartwarming caption further read, “Our world is a million times better with you in it.”
Since then, Colton Underwood has also showcased a heartfelt moment he shared with his son Bishop. He posted a video on Instagram, where he was seen bottle feeding the newborn baby using skin-to-skin care techniques.
Colton Underwood bonds skin-to-skin with new baby
In an Instagram video, Colton Underwood displayed a special bonding moment with his and his husband Jordan C. Brown’s newborn first son. He wrote in the caption of the video, “Our sweet Bishop” with a blue heart emoji. The video clip shows Underwood connecting with son Bishop in the skin-to-skin or kangaroo care technique, while bottle feeding him.
The special technique involves placing the baby on a parent’s bare chest directly right after the child’s birth for skin-to-skin contact. The newborn is generally dried and then placed to rest against the parent’s bare chest. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the method has several significant benefits. It includes supporting the baby’s physical health, helping with breastfeeding and nurturing the bond between the parent and the baby.
In a previous interview with People Magazine, Colton Underwood disclosed that he and his husband could not wait to become fathers. He stated, “That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship.” He continued, “We both wanted to be dads.” Underwood added, “But it’s been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.”
Underwood and Jordan C. Brown tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa, California last year. Per People Magazine, on May 13 this year, Underwood and Jordan C. Brown celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
