Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, who is ready to welcome her first child with Ken Urker, discussed how her parole will impact their parenting. The former inmate and her boyfriend appeared in the latest episode of “The Viall Files” podcast to talk about Blanchard’s life after prison and her pregnancy. The mother-to-be revealed she resides in Cut Off, Louisiana, with her parents while Urker, who moved to New Orleans to be closer to her, lives an hour away. They also laid out their plans for co-parenting due to travel restrictions.
Reportedly, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard served nearly eight years in prison for her role in her mother Dee Dee Blanchard’s murder before her December 2023 release on parole. She has since rekindled romance with Urker, whom she dated while in prison, and is pregnant with their first child.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard reveals co-parenting plans with boyfriend Ken Urker
Pregnant Gypsy-Rose Blanchard disclosed her and Ken Urker’s co-parenting plans until she is off parole on “The Viall Files” podcast. Blanchard claimed she felt “excitement” and “all those emotions” after learning about the pregnancy but promptly discussed the technicalities with Urker. She further expressed frustration that despite being together, they will be “essentially co-parenting” their daughter once she is born due to parole restrictions.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard called her parole limitations “standard” before naming a few such as “travel permissions and stuff like that.” She told the podcast that her current residence “poses an issue” given her travel restrictions. The 33-year-old then talked “extensively” about her and Urker’s plans of how it is “going to work whenever the baby’s born.” She said the common questions they raised were how many days each of them could spend with the other and who would be keeping their daughter, calling it a back-and-forth.
Later, Ken Urker declared how he felt the “need to be in Louisiana to be as close to her [Gypsy-Rose Blanchard] as possible” after learning she was pregnant. Urker, who lived in Dallas at the time, told the hosts, “I packed all my stuff, and I moved to New Orleans.” Claiming, he has been “happy ever since,” Blanchard’s boyfriend called the parole “tricky” because they “can’t live together.” The couple are “legally not allowed to” do so, which is one of the main concerns.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker are expecting their first child in January 2025. Blanchard revealed in the podcast that she will remain on parole until June of that year.
