Hilary Duff Shares One Food Rule Her Kids Must Follow

Hilary Duff is a proud mother of four, and with a big family, comes a varying range of choices. Recently, the actor spoke about the one food rule all her kids must follow, and it is a good way to develop a diverse taste palate for the younger ones.

The 37-year-old is mom to son Luca Cruz from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie. Duff also shares three daughters — Banks Violet, Mae James, and Townes Meadow Bair — with her husband, Matthew Koma.

Hilary Duff reveals her strict food rule with her kids

In an interview with Parents, Hilary Duff shared she has set out a food rule that her children must follow. The actor said, “If Matt and I have cooked a specific meal ourselves, or we’re out at a restaurant—everybody at least has to try the food.” That’s one great rule to take note of!

Meanwhile, she explained that “there’s no forcing.” Duff added that she is “not down with, ‘You ordered it, you eat it,'” but the kids “have to try and give it a fighting chance.” She further shared, “My kids can’t be like, ‘I’m going to take this tiny little crumb and put it on my tongue and see if it works.'”

However, the plan doesn’t always work. Duff recalled that her daughter Banks started eating hamburgers “all of a sudden” but later she was “done” after eating it for a month. The star explained that the situation is “like whiplash” because the kids may want “to wear purple” one week and then they might express their displeasure with the color the following week.

Duff and Koma’s family grew bigger as they welcomed their youngest daughter, Townes, earlier this year. During the interview with Parents, Duff also shared that their “family feels complete.” She added, “And actually everybody gets along really well.”
