Baby Copies Dog to a Surprising Extent in Cute Video

Becoming an internet favorite, a baby attempts to copy her dog in a now-viral and hilarious TikTok video. TikTok user Analeigh Ahm, seemingly the parent, captures an adorable moment of the baby imitating her four-legged best friend’s barks. Not only does she mimic the barks, but she mimics them with surprising accuracy, making it a bark-off to remember. While it could just be the little girl’s observational learning or her way of bonding with the dog, the comments proved viewers had a field day with the clip.

Baby’s half barks inspired by her dog is on-point

Melting the hearts of over 12.5 million viewers, TikTok user Analeigh Ahn shared a funny video of a baby trying to copy her dog. The viral video has racked up over 414.3K shares, clearly buzzing the internet with merely two hilarious and heartwarming clips. Babies imitate all kinds of things during their speech development process, but as a commenter pointed out, to copy a dog indicates one thing — “She’s bilingual already!!”

The video shows the baby in her darling onesie and a yellow bow hair clip. She starts making a sound that initially seems like a random sound babies make. However, the video creator realizes the sound is suspiciously similar to barking. Encapsulating the epiphany in the overlay text, they write, “When your baby starts doing this and then you realize…”

In case there was any doubt, the final clip makes the big revelation — the family dog barking while standing guard by the window. Captioned with “Woof,” the video thus seals the deal, proving the baby was fluent in dog speak. In no time, TikTok users flooded the comments with top-tier reactions. One joked, “Now she can establish dominance at daycare,” while another pointed out how “she puts her whole little body into it.”

Another user shared a similar experience, “My second child’s first word was ‘meow’ and the cat answered her,” proving it was a universal phenomenon. Babies are natural mimics who learn to communicate and express emotions through imitation. Social learning theory explains that babies constantly observe their surroundings to learn behaviors. While doing so, they experiment with different sounds. Hence, while sharing the same house, it is possible that the baby picked up on the dog’s barking pattern. Whether the baby copies her dog’s barks to bond, or just for laughs, the video proves that the duo makes a zestful team.
