Good Manners Are At The Top Of Heidi Klum’s Parenting List

Heidi Klum sheds light on what type of talk is not allowed in their home.

The supermodel mom of four, and star of the upcoming “Seriously Funny Kids” (premiering Feb. 1st), shares that she and husband Seal take teaching good manners very seriously. Heidi says that no bad words are allowed in their house: “When we’re around the children, we really make a point in our family to not curse or say potty words. My husband and I try our best to make sure our kids are proper and have good manners. They’re already saying things that they shouldn’t be saying at their age.”   Their kids are still like every other kid their age, repeating things they pick up at school and elsewhere:  “Leni will sometimes come home and say, ‘What the…,’ And I say, ‘Leni, What the… isn’t a sentence. It’s inappropriate and you can’t say it.’”

The former Victoria’s Secret model says that despite her angel wings, she’s not perfect: “I’m not saying I’m a saint by any means. When I’m with grown-ups and we’re out, I curse sometimes and we say some inappropriate things. But when we’re at home, my husband and I try our best to make sure our children are proper and have good manners.”

What’s at the top of your good manners list? I’d have to agree with Heidi on the talking respectfully front – that’s a big one.  Well, just being respectful all around – not just talking the talk, but walking the walk, too.
