You Can Now Buy A Stroller With An Engine (Sort Of)

Raise your hand if you have a jogging stroller in your garage right now that you’ve never actually used to go jogging with. (Guilty) Most moms I know, myself included, use over-sized strollers to move the mountain of kid crap needed to go anywhere with children. From jackets and diaper bags to coffee and weird little incidentals that you collect on your adventures throughout the day, strollers are a Godsend.

The problem, though, is that the more stuff you have to lug around, the harder it is to maneuver the stroller. Designers have solved this problem by creating a motorized pram to handle even the bumpiest or steep terrain you can dish up on your afternoon walk.

Stroller Shopping 101

The Cybex e-PRIAM, which retails for a cool $1,300, is a slick-looking high-end stroller that comes in boujee colors like rose gold and matte black. The stroller is beautifully designed with absolute ease in mind. Through sensors in the handlebar, the stroller can detect if mom is pushing uphill or pulling downhill and the battery-operated motor kicks in to absorb the extra work. It can also detect uneven terrain from gravel driveways to sandy beaches and can correct for the wonky surface, helping to keep mom and baby happy.

The regular Priam is already a favorite among the wealthy set for its durable frame that seemingly never breaks, the extra-large shopping basket that can hold up to 11 pounds of goods neatly tucked underneath the carriage, and for its super convenient one-hand fold – yup, you can tuck this baby up with one hand. It famously includes a canopy with UPF 50+ to keep those harmful rays off of baby. All of these features are included in the new e-Priam too.

Purchasing a Jogging Stroller That Is Right for You

If you already own a Priam, you can’t upgrade to the e-Priam version. I know, boo! Also, worth noting, if you have the e-Priam, you don’t always have to use the motorized feature. You can simply not activate the motor and instead use the traditional manual labor version.
