Try this icey dino dig to keep them busy and cool! It’s easy to make and sure to make the kids squeal with glee every time they reveal a new dinosaur!
What You’ll Need:
- A mold – I used a silicone mold, but a tupperware could work fine.
- Blue food dye
- Plastic mini dinos
- A freezer
- Container
- Spoon
I thought it would be fun to add the some food dye to the water. Turns out he loved it!
Pour a little bit of water in and freeze it. This will create a layer of ice before you add the first dinos. Otherwise, the dinos would be sticking out. We can’t be having that!
After the first layer is frozen, add a couple of dinosaurs and pour a little more water in. Freeze that layer and repeat as many times as you would like! We ended up having several dino layers.
Once it’s solid ice, you’re ready to dig!
I put the block into a container to contain the ice/water. Add a spoon for a shovel and hand it over to the kiddos!
Now sit back, relax and enjoy the discoveries!
It will take a while. Yay for Mom!
Here’s the aftermath. Our dinosaurs were new so it was a great activity AND a little gift.
