I am such a sucker for gift wrap — at any time of the year really, but ESPECIALLY during the holidays. While I do collect a ridiculous amount of paper goods, it’s sometimes more fun to make my own wrapping paper using supplies from around the house. This polka dot confetti gift wrap can be made in just a few simple steps and is ready to wrap in 30 minutes. You might have a hard time keeping this one untouched under the tree. It’s cuteness is just begging to be opened…
Supplies:
- cardstock in assorted colors
- white wrapping paper pre-cut to the size for your gift in question
- paper plate
- paint brush
- mod podge (gloss or matte is just fine!)
- paper hole punch
- tape
Instructions:
Step 1. Cut out a bunch of paper confetti using the paper punch.
Step 2. Lay the white wrapping paper on a flat surface and secure the four corners with a little tape.
Step 3. Paint small, thin layers of the mod podge around the surface of the paper. There’s no math or pattern to it. Just place a little bit in random places around the paper!
Step 4. Sprinkle a handful of paper dots on each painted mod podge dot. Go over each and press the paper confetti into the mod podge firmly with your hand to be sure it adhered well.
Step 5. Wait for it to dry! It’s ready in about 30 minutes.
Step 6. Time to wrap your present! Lift up the wrapping paper and gently shake it allowing any loose paper dots to fall off.
And that’s it!
Finish it off with a little gold twine or yarn and tie in a bow! Place the present under the tree and pat yourself on the back for a job well-done! Now, can we polka dot all the things?
