DIY: Colorful Elastic Hair Ties

Have you seen the newest rage in hair accessories? When it comes to your daughter's do, it's all about these Colorful Elastic Hair Ties. Best of all, it's a little known fact that the material used for these trendy bands is a simple sewing trim: FOE (fold-over-elastic), which is stretchy and economical! DIY a couple dozen for under 5 bucks.

Supplies:

• 1 yard fold-over-elastic
• scissors
• ruler or measuring tape

Instructions:

Step 1: Measure out 9 inches of fold-over-elastic and cut.

Step 2: Fold the elastic in half.

Step 3: Make a loop, keeping the elastic in half.

Step 4: Bring the middle, uncut end up through the loop

Step 5: Pull the loop all the way through, making sure to keep the tails at a nice length.

Step 6: Snip the tail at a diagonal

Step 7:Make some precious pig tails for your sweetie
