We love lacing cards! They are great way to encourage little ones to practice their fine motor skills and have fun doing it. These easy DIY lacing cards can be made in minutes and are sure to be a hit with the kids!
Supplies
- Cardboard
- Duct tape
- Shoe laces (36 inches)
- Scissors
- Hole punch
Instructions
Step 1: Cut some fun and simple shapes out of your cardboard. Make sure they are big enough for kids to handle easily.
Step 2: Cut off strips of duct tape and cover the shapes. For some of the colors, I had to use two layers of tape to completely cover the designs on the cardboard.
Step 3: Use your scissors to trim off the excess duct tape around the edges. Cutting the duct tape can be sticky! It is a lot easier if you cut it with the sticky side up. Don't ask me why; it just is.
Step 4: If you want, you can add some fun designs to your cards to make them more fun for the kids. Just cut some shapes using the duct tape and stick them on!
Step 5: Use the hole punch to punch evenly spaced holes in the cards for lacing.
And you're done! Have fun with your new lacing cards!
