How to Keep The Spark Alive While Trying To Conceive

Let’s be real for a second. If you are trying to get pregnant and haven’t had success, chances are you are getting a bit frustrated. Something that has always been fun and filled with love is quickly becoming a chore. Which is no good! Sex with your partner should be the same as it has always been, maybe even better.

When my husband and I had our first son, we had to try like one week and we were pregnant. It was insane. This time around, it has been a bit of a struggle. We have tried and tried and still the pregnancy test is negative. So sex has started to feel like something I need to do, rather than something I want to do

To help save our sex life, we’re doing two things: date nights and being intimate even when I’m not ovulating. By going out, watching a romantic movie, and cuddling, before we have sex makes sex feel like it used to back in the day when we weren’t preoccupied with whether you were ovulating. Having sex regularly (not just when I’m ovulating) has helped me to relax and it’s made our sex life feel more normal; that feeling of relaxation has even carried over to some of the times when we are TTC.

There are a lot of little tips and tricks to help keep the spark alive while trying to conceive, but really it comes down to you and your partner. What turns the other one on? Do they like being surprised? Go on a long romantic date? Whatever it is, do it!
