  • ½ package of crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, divided
  • 1 container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • ¾ cup chocolate syrup

Preparation

  1. To make the mud pie recipe, take the cookie crumb crust and press it into the bottom of the container. Freeze it until firm, which should take about 30 minutes.

  4. Heat the fudge topping in the microwave on low until just warm and easy to pour. It should take about 30 seconds. Pour the topping into a bowl.
  5. Set aside two tablespoons of cookie crumbs for garnish. Then, stir the remaining cookie crumbs into the fudge topping.
  6. Remove the pie from the freezer and layer the fudge mixture over the ice cream layer. Cover with plastic wrap, and return to the freezer for two hours.
  7. Remove the remaining frozen coffee ice cream from the freezer and allow it to soften. Spread the ice cream over the fudge layer. Cover with plastic wrap and return to the freezer for two more hours.
  8. Remove the mud pie, and spread whipped topping over top. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs to garnish. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for two more hours. For best results, leave it in the freezer overnight.
