Your kids can work with the Krispies as their art medium and create sculptures (of sorts!) They can make anything they like — from snowmen to cute little animals to just squares or balls! You can use the images here as a guide for Christmas and Hanukkah treats. We brought the menorah to a kid’s Hanukkah party last year, and it was a huge hit!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 3 cups small marshmallows
- 5 cups Crispy Brown Rice cereal
Preparation:
In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter with the marshmallows. Turn off the heat, add the cereal, and stir to coat completely. Let cool so you can touch — but don’t let it get too cool or you won’t be able mold shapes easily. Have your kids put a little butter on their hands so they won’t stick to the cereal. Have fun!
Possible Decorations:
- Chocolate chips
- White frosting for “glue”
- Food coloring
- Melted chocolate
- Sprinkles (all colors and shapes)
- Carrots (tiny pieces)

Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice cereal is gluten-free, and I like that it’s made from brown rice. Kellogg’s Rice Krispies are just fine, too!
