Easy Caramel Apple Cider

It happened… it finally got cold enough in the tropics of Alabama to break out the winter wear.

We were having a few friends over the other night and we were feeling festive as we’d just finished decorating the tree. So we cranked up the Christmas tunes, broke out the holidaisical sweaters, and whipped up one of our very favorite recipes to share it with you today:

Easy Caramel Apple Cider!

It serves 12 cups, but if you want less, just half the recipe or even cut it into thirds.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 96 oz organic apple juice
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • package of caramel candy pieces
  • cinnamon sticks
  • whipped cream

In a large boiler, pour your apple juice and add the cinnamon and honey.

While the juice is warming, cut about 25-30 of your caramel candy into slices and add them to the juice. Stir as you’re adding, until the caramel melts. Then, let the cider simmer on low for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Now in a saucepan melt about 10 caramel pieces to use as a drizzle on your whipped cream. (Do this last, right before you are ready to serve.) You can also use caramel ice cream topping as a substitute.

We then simply poured the apple cider into our tumblers from our Entertaining Collection from Tervis, – they come in fun colors that makes them perfect for guests, and a great go-to for any party.

We added whipped cream, and a dash of cinnamon on top. Garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick {that can double as a stir stick} for something a little special!

We’re fancy like that.

It fueled that last leg of our decorating frenzy for the little shindig, even after we suffered a few ornament casualties.

Unlike the ornaments, the tumblers from Tervis don’t shatter easily.

{We’re just glad that star didn’t fall!}

I caught a photo of Ashley with some while knocking out a little work before our friends arrived. The kids were soon begging for a tumbler of their own.

And since they keep beverages hot as well as cold, we love them as a better choice than our traditional mugs!

As always, let us know if you try the recipe!

It’s an easy hit for a simple fix on a cold winter day.

As always, let us know if you try the yummy recipe – sure to be a crowd pleaser!
