Fall Nail Trends 2014: Black? White? Or Both?

As summer is a thing of the past and crisper weather and cozy sweaters take over, our fall nail trends tend to get a bit moodier as well. This fall, nails are the main event, and a new fresh shade line-up as well nail art are taking the lead. New York Fashion Week showcased nails in a major way this year, and the trends do not disappoint. Trends range from dark tones to pastels to the attainable nail art that is so gorgeous this season.

Whites

White nails in fall seem out of the box, but this fresh take on nails keeps a neutral, light palette to offset your darker outfits for fall.

Black

Black nails have been a fall staple for years, but nothing beats a classic high gloss black nail for high drama and a moody finish to your perfect fall ensemble.

Berry and Red

Berry tones are always a feminine go-to for something fresh and rich for fall. I love the red and berry tones in a matte or even high gloss to give a pop of color.

Pastels

Pastels seem like a spring staple but are making a major statement this fall with shades ranging from pastel pink to blues to grays and browns. These tones feel rich but are still subdued enough to work with any outfit.

“Half Moon” Nail Art

This trend has rocked the fashion runways so hard this fall and is so fun. Nail art can seem intimidating, but with a little tape you can create this fun angled half-moon pattern or really anything you like. Keep colors in the same color palette, and the design will keep a chic appearance.
