When my feet hurt, it makes me borderline violent. Heels make me feel like my feet are being stabbed, all over, by tiny little evil armies of feet assassins. And ill-fitting shoes make my resting b*tch face even more pronounced. I choose comfort over fashion no matter if it’s date night or running around town. But just because I don’t want my feet to hurt doesn’t mean I will wear something unstylish or, gasp, athletic. Sneakers are not part of my standard wardrobe, and while they might be comfortable, they certainly don’t vibe with my usual boho look.
Dressing for a full day at Disneyland or volunteering at a long school event is tricky. Sometimes even your most comfortable shoes will bring you to your knees when worn for an extra long time. But don’t fret! These eleven fabulous pairs of comfortable shoes for women won’t murder your feet. All of these shoes are stylish and would fit perfectly into your current wardrobe. I asked a bunch of my friends for their recommendations (I take my comfort VERY seriously), and here is what we came up with. This list has something for everybody. And now I’m going to be poor because I want to buy them all.
Check them out in the slideshow.

Don't give up style for comfort! These shoes look amazing and won't hurt your feet.
A Summer Bootie
LOVE! I've been in the market for a summer bootie, and this is totally it. The goal at Miz Mooz is to make super comfortable shoes that are stylish and fashion forward. They know that style and comfort can be found in one harmonious shoe, and they nail it every time. This sandal would be perfect for a music festival or city-wide block party. Go to their site to see all the styles because I'm OBSESSED and want all of them. SO GOOD.

Because, Comfort
You can't have a list of comfortable shoes and not include Birkenstocks. Duh. They really are amazing. In the last few years, they've really upped their style game and come out with dope colors, like these in metallic rose gold. Wearing Birks no longer means that you are a hippie. They can be worked easily in to almost any style. They way they mold to your feet is what makes them so special. They probably weren't the smartest shoe choice for me to wear to my first real standing-room-only, mosh-pit-erupting concert in high school. I am happy to say that no toes were broken and I, of course, was super comfortable standing there all night long.

Hot Pink Hot Mama
Did you ever have huaraches growing up? I can't remember NOT having them. They were so easy to slip on and were really lightweight. Huaraches keep your feet cool, so this updated version is perfect for warm summer weather. The T-strap dresses them up a little, and the hot pink color would work with so many different outfits. These have a little cushion in the footbed, making these perfect for wearing for long periods of time.

Platform for Comfort
This brand, Kork-Ease, is all about comfort. They've been around since 1953 and bring a bit of a seventies feel with their platforms, clogs, and chunky heels. But as you can see in the photo above, they've modernized their look to include fantastic materials and design. I want that shoe on my feet. I want to run around Target in this shoe. I want to walk to and from school with the kids in this shoe. Doesn't it look comfortable to you?

Strappy and Strong
My girl, Michelle, just got back from exploring Santa Barbara in these. A flat shoe likes this doesn't work for everyone, but I love a good simple sandal like this. The hardware and metal details make these feel tough and edgy, but your feet will feel totally happy. These thin straps will let you feel like you are almost barefoot, and this style works really well with shorts and maxi dresses.

Well Heeled
At this point, we probably all own a pair of booties. And while some are super comfortable, others are NOT. I recently got a pair that I thought I'd be able to wear to an upcoming conference. The height of the heel makes my foot slide forward, which pinches my toes against the pointy front. Terrible. These booties from Dansko don't do that. Each style in the collection of sandals, clogs, boots, and heels is made with all day comfort in mind. This fringe detail is right on trend, and I love the shape of this shoe. It's the perfect clog/bootie hybrid.

Cross Over to Happy Feet
Toms came up again and again in my chats with girlfriends about shoes. I have worn Toms to Disneyland, and my feet rejoiced. But I don't love the style of the original canvas shoes. These darling black sandals, on the other hand, are totes adorbs. For every pair of shoes that the company sells, they give a pair to someone who needs them. So cool. And while I love a basic black sandal, this shoe comes in several styles and a bunch of colors. There really are a ton of great options.

Style Sport
My adorable neighbor, Lori, had these on today when I was over at her house. As you can see in the picture, the bottom of the shoes looks like a sneaker (which means oh so comfortable), but it looks like an awesome, chunky sandal on the top. In person, they look even less sneaker-like. I'm dying to try these. There are several other styles and finishes to choose from with this sneaker-style sole.

Laser Focus
I love a good flat. This laser-cut version, with the ankle tie, is awesome. Classic black is always my go-to, but the graphic pattern makes it anything but boring. This would work with so many kinds of outfits and would be perfect with a dress if you had to be a little more dressed up than your usual casual look. The ankle tie and low heel keep it from feeling too simple.

Stacked with Style
Looking at these, I never would guess that they would be comfortable. My friend, Kerry, wore these on a walking wine tour all around town and LOVED them. I love the stacked heel and the cut-out detail on the sides. These would be so cute with shorts or a dress but would be equally cute with a pair of jeans. These are super versatile and come in a few colors. I'm putting these on my "to buy" list.

Flat Out Fabulous
Tieks. While I have never worn a pair, I know TONS of people who die for these. They come in a bunch of different colorways (I would go with leopard—it's totally a neutral...), but all of them include that turquoise sole. Made for all day wear, these are easy to fold up and bring with you in case the shoes you thought you wanted to wear end up being a poor choice. I really could have used these at the Oscar party my husband and I went to. I ditched my heels very early on and wore legit pink ballet slippers that I purchased when I did a trapeze class. They were definitely not as classy an option as Tieks would have been.
